Belt solo
With this video, you earn 2 points every time you watch it all the way through and participate.
Now, you’ll train yourself to stay in your natural voice for as long as possible.
The exercise:
Call out "Hey" on pitch.
Tips:
✔ Imagine you see someone across the street.
✔ Be happy, excited, or surprised—express it more as you go higher.
✔ Don’t shout or sound angry. You’re not yelling at a thief to stop, but calling out to an old friend you haven’t seen in years with joyful surprise.
✔ Pay attention to your jaw position—keep it natural, not too high or too low.
✔ Listen to your own voice. Can you maintain a true "call" throughout the whole exercise?
Does calling out still feel like too big of a step? Try the "whining" exercise instead. If this exercise goes well for you, see if it affects the key in which you naturally sing a song!
