That’s what this video is all about. It’s the first thing I want to share with you in SING! and perhaps the most important.
Being in touch with your body and learning to listen to what it tells you, is the foundation of healthy voice use.

It’s essential to learn how to feel what’s happening in your body while singing. Where do you feel tension? Where is the sound located? Does it feel smooth? Does it hurt?

That last point is critical—because if it hurts, something isn’t right. Everything in life can take effort; you can work hard for what you want to achieve, but it should never hurt.

The foundation of healthy voice use is learning to listen to what your body tells you. Only when you listen to your body can you guide your voice.

So, my first and most important tip for you is this: be aware of what’s happening in your body, because your body is your instrument, and it tells you exactly what you’re doing right—or wrong.
