How low can you go
Everyone has a unique natural vocal strength and range. Of course, you can expand your range, but your vocal strength will always remain your foundation. For me, low notes have never been my strongest point, my power is more in the mid to high range. Still, that doesn’t mean I can’t work on the lows. Join me on 'never' and let’s explore together.
Important to remember:
✔Don’t push your low notes or force them, otherwise you’ll get that growly, grumbling sound.
✔Instead, try laughing from the inside as you go lower, this makes the sound lighter and easier to carry.
✔Think of pulling the low note upward rather than pressing it downward.
Exercise:
First, check how low you can go in your speaking voice, as long as the sound stays clear, grounded, and doesn’t become pitchy because you cannot control it anymore.
Then, practice with the laughing technique to make your low notes more comfortable and lighter.
